Writing In Math:

    • Description: By imitating the format of The Important Book, students write and create an illustrated paragraph on a particular math topic. Students create pages similar to those in The Important Book comparing their knowledge before and after learning a topic.


  • If the World Were a Village Activity Descriptor: During this activity, students will utilize a math writing activity the book, "If the World Were a Village" using six pages where each person uses the page to create a math problem & solution. The focus of this activity is on Math Writing.


  • Bio Cube Writing Activity:
    • Read, Write & Think Bio Cube Web Site: http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/in

    • Description: Students create a bio cube that describes the characteristics of a unit of measurement, a specific polygon, etc. The web site walks students through the steps to create the cube but it must be completed in one session and printed out. There is no save feature :( You can follow the "guide" for what should be typed on each side of the biocube or simply ignore the titles and type characteristics on each side.
